Authors retain copyright in their published work and grant Pioneer Medical Journal (PMJ) the right of first publication. Published articles are normally distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence, unless otherwise stated.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and that permission has been obtained for the use of copyrighted material belonging to third parties. Appropriate acknowledgement and attribution must be provided for all reused material.

Submission of a manuscript confirms that it has not been published previously and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal, except where this has been disclosed to and approved by the Editor.

Plagiarism and Related Misconduct

PMJ considers plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate text recycling, manipulation of images or data, citation manipulation, and other forms of research or publication misconduct unacceptable.

Submitted manuscripts may be screened using appropriate plagiarism or similarity-detection tools. Similarity reports are used as an aid to editorial assessment and do not, by themselves, establish plagiarism.

Where suspected misconduct is identified, the Journal may investigate the matter in accordance with established publication-ethics principles. Authors may be asked to provide an explanation or supporting documentation. Where misconduct is confirmed, the Journal may reject the manuscript, withdraw an accepted manuscript, issue a correction or expression of concern, or retract a published article, as appropriate.

Cases involving authorship disputes, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, or other serious misconduct may be referred to the authors' institutions or relevant authorities where appropriate.

The Journal may take action against manuscripts or published articles regardless of when the suspected misconduct is identified.
